Artist Bio

Porsha Kennon is a self-taught fiber artist based in Jacksonville, Florida, working primarily in punch needle portraiture. Her path to fiber art began through years of crocheting and expanded through experimentation with embroidery, appliqué, felt, and beading before she found her primary medium in punch needle.

Kennon creates large-scale fiber portraits using yarn and fabric, building each image one loop at a time over weeks or months. Her work is rooted in people, relationships, and lived experience, using the familiarity and tactile nature of fiber to explore connection, recognition, and what it means to truly see another person.
